DRAPER, Utah — Southbound traffic on Interstate 15 was backed up near the Bangerter Highway exit after a officer-involved crash Tuesday afternoon.

A Draper police officer was rear-ended by a vehicle after the motorist failed to slow down for traffic, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

The officer complained of a stiff neck and was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.

The motorist who struck the officer will be cited for following to close or failure to keep proper lookout, according to UHP.
