PROVO, Utah – Officials in Provo are warning drivers about traffic expected with the Provo City Center Temple open house.

Provo PD said residents should find alternate routes now to avoid the center of the city.

Authorities said roadways around the downtown area will be busiest on University Ave., Center St., 200 W. and 300 S.

Officers said wise travelers would benefit from using 500 W. and 900 E. to travel north and south through Provo.

The open house starts Jan. 15 and will go through March 5, running every day except Sundays.

The temple will be dedicated in three sessions on March 20 with a cultural celebration March 19.

The dedicatory sessions are at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. and will be broadcast to Utah LDS meetinghouses.
