PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — The 15-year-old student who allegedly made a fraudulent report about a gunman at Pleasant Grove High School in order to get out of a school activity was taken into custody and booked on charges of “False Report and Terroristic Threats.”

One day after a mass shooting in San Bernardino, California put the nation on high alert, about 200 police and other responders from numerous agencies converged on Pleasant Grove High School after a student reported seeing a man with a gun, according to Pleasant Grove police.

No threat was located, and police ultimately learned the student had “fabricated the entire story,” according to a post from the Pleasant Grove Police Department.

Police stated: “The student making the report, a 15 year-old male, has been taken into custody and booked on charges of False Report and Terroristic Threats.”

As the suspect is a juvenile, his name has not been released.
