Bullet grazes back of man’s head during suspected gang fight in Ogden, police say

OGDEN, Utah — A man is recovering from a single gunshot wound to the head after a suspected gang fight in Ogden early Saturday morning.

At about 4:16 a.m., Ogden police officers responded to the 2700 block of Monroe Blvd. on a report of a gunshot wound. When they arrived on scene, they discovered a bullet had grazed the back of a 40-year-old man’s head.

According to Ogden police, two male suspects contacted the victim at a residence located near 2700 Monroe Blvd. During a physical altercation, police say, a handgun was brandished and two rounds were fired.

“One of the rounds grazed the back side of the victim’s head,” according to police.

The suspects then fled on foot.

Witnesses and victims have been uncooperative with investigators at this time, police say.

Police say the incident appears to be gang related and detectives from the Ogden Metro Gang Task Force and Ogden Investigations Bureau are investigating the incident.
