Ski resorts announce opening dates

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah ski resorts are getting ready to open the runs to skiers and snowboarders for the 2015-16 season.

Several of the resorts are expected to open in the next few days, according to Ski Utah website.

Skiers and snowboarders have already ventured into the backcountry to take advantage of the fresh powder that’s accumulated for the past few days.

During Monday’s snowfall, Park City received 6 inches of snow, Snowbird 12 inches and Brian Head 7.5 inches. It is unknown what the totals are for the other resorts at this time.

Opening dates have not been released for Beaver Mountain, Cherry Peak and Nordic Valley.

The resorts and their opening dates are listed below:

  • Alta: Nov. 20
  • Beaver Mountain: TBD
  • Brian Head: Nov. 20
  • Brighton: Nov. 18
  • Cherry Peak: TBD
  • Deer Valley: Dec. 5
  • Eagle Point: Dec. 19
  • Nordic Valley: TBD
