SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah running back Devontae Booker ran for 145 yards and a touchdown in the loss to Arizona, but he played hurt for more than half of the game after he injured his leg in the second quarter.

Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said at Monday’s press conference that Booker could miss the UCLA game.

“It’s a question mark night now,” Whittingham said. “We’ll know a lot more after today, there’s more evaluations that need to take place.”

Joe Williams filled in for Booker when he was being looked at by Utah’s medical staff in the second half, and Whittingham said they probably should have used Williams a little more when they saw how Booker was running in the second half.

“Devontae though he was going to be able to return and be at full strength, but it was very obvious that he wasn’t,” Whittingham said. “He usually runs with a lot of violence and tenacity, and you could tell he had lost that edge a little bit.”

Booker is the focal point of the Utes’ offense.  He’s rushed for 1,261 yards this season with 11 rushing touchdowns.
