MAGNA, Utah — A man is in serious condition after an RV he was working on fell off of a jack, trapping the man beneath it.

Det. Ken Hansen, Unified Police Department, said the man was working on his RV when the RV came off of the jack. Personnel at the scene tell FOX 13 News it appears the trailer attached to the RV shifted, causing the jack supporting the RV to slip.

The accident was at a storage facility in Magna near 3900 South and 8400 West. FOX 13 News first heard reports of the accident around 5:15 p.m.

The man was extricated from beneath the trailer about 24 minutes after the accident was reported. Personnel at the scene said the RV struck the man in the chest. They said while the man could breathe while he was trapped, the pressure made breathing more difficult.

The victim, a 44-year-old man, was being taken by medical helicopter to a hospital and is listed as being in serious condition.

The victim has not been identified.

FOX 13 News has a crew at the scene, and we will have more information as it becomes available.
