MIDVALE, Utah — This Veterans Day, Progressive gave away more than 130 cars to veterans and their families, and two of the vehicles were given away in Utah.

Wednesday marked Progressive’s third annual Keys to Progress event, which was held in Midvale.

The insurer, along with auto body and repair companies, fix up vehicles to like-new condition and give them to veterans and their families so they have reliable transportation.

This year’s winners in Utah were Edward Kilby, an active member of the Utah National Guard, and Justin Brost, whose son was killed in combat.

“This has just been an amazing day to honor my son,” Brost said, adding: “You know, although the vehicles are nice, it’s about our soldiers. It’s about those who have served.”

The recipients also received gift cards, snacks for the car, and six months of free auto insurance.
