SALT LAKE CITY — Police in Salt Lake City are still looking for the driver of a dump truck that fatally struck a cyclist in Salt Lake City on October 28, and Friday authorities released video footage they say shows the vehicle in question.

Anthony Johnson was hit and killed while riding north on Redwood Road near 200 South in the vicinity of the I-80 eastbound on-ramp. A dump truck pulling a trailer was also northbound, and while making a right turn onto the on-ramp the trailer struck Johnson. The crash occurred some time around 7 a.m.

“The dump truck driver continued east on I-80 and may not know he was involved in this tragic accident,” police stated in a press release.

The truck was on 500 South prior to making the left turn onto Redwood Road from 400 South. Anyone who can identify the truck or driver, or who may have witnessed the event, is asked to contact police.
