WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - Authorities are releasing the identities of those involved in a crash last week in West Valley City, including a pregnant woman who lost her baby after running from police.

The four people were in a stolen car and ran from police when officers tried to make a traffic stop near 3500 S. and 2700 W. last Thursday at about 1 a.m.

Officers called off the chase but the driver, 22-year-old Abhishek S. Kumar, crashed the stolen SUV moments later down the street near 2100 S.

Investigators said Kumar was going too fast for a curve in the road and lost control.

"It looks like he didn't negotiate that turn, hit the curb, and it looks like he was going at a pretty good clip because he went probably 100+ yards before he hit the cement barriers that prevented him from going out onto the freeway itself," West Valley Police Lt. Mike Christenson said.

A pregnant woman, 33, was in the vehicle and lost her unborn child due to injuries from the crash.

All four individuals had to be cut out of the SUV, including the other two passengers.

All have been released from the hospital, except for the woman who lost her baby, who remains in serious condition.

Detectives are working to finish the investigation, including getting blood test results from the driver, Kumar, before filing formal charges and getting arrest warrants. At this time, Kumar is the only one of the four who is expected to face charges.

NOTE: A previous version of this story included a photo of Danielle Lucero, who was not involved in the incident. The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office included the erroneous photo in their message containing the other photos of the persons involved, but they later corrected that information and sent a photo of the fourth person involved.
