OREM, Utah – If your vehicle is hit by a distracted driver Thursday right around the 5 p.m. rush at an intersection along State Street in Orem, that data point won’t come as a surprise to the Orem Police Department.

According to crash statistics for 2015 released by Orem PD, Thursday around 5 p.m. is the “worst day” for crashes and the most common causes of accidents are distracted driving and following too closely.

The data also includes intersections where the most crashes have occurred to date in 2015, and State Street is half of the equation in three of the top five. See below for the intersections and their year-to-date crash totals.

No. 1 – Parkway and State: 155
No. 2 – Center and State: 115
No. 3 – 1200 West 800 North: 114
No. 4 – Main and the Parkway: 94
No. 5 – 800 North and State: 69
