TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A spokesman for the Granite School District said two schools were placed on “soft lockdown” due to a drive-by shooting near 4800 S 3330 W.

The schools placed on lockdown are Arcadia Elementary School, at 3461 W 4850 S, and Truman Elementary School, at 4639 3200 W.

According to the Granite School District, there is no direct threat to the schoools and the soft lockdowns are precautionary measures to ensure student safety. School is proceeding as normal inside both schools.

Parents and guardians of children attending either of the schools are asked not to come to the campus until the situation is resolved and the lockdowns are lifted.
