IVINS, Utah — A woman and her young daughter were given the best surprise they could’ve hoped for, and it all happened in front of an audience of 2,000 people.

Brandi Drake and her young daughter Skyler were attending a performance of Disney’s “When You Wish” at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre when their seat numbers were called. The Drakes were asked to come down to the stage to claim some “very special gifts.”

Brandi and Skyler were given gift bags, but the real surprise was waiting for them behind part of the stage set.

Lt. Col Dennis “Tres” Drake, United States Air Force, popped up out of a trap door and greeted his wife and daughter with bouquets of flowers. Drake had just returned from a year-long deployment in Africa.

The big surprise came just one day before Skyler’s 10th birthday.
