SANDY, Utah -- Burglars broke into a Sandy home Tuesday afternoon and took all the valuables they could find.

But the victims were devastated when they realized the crooks also took their beloved dog - a Boston terrier named "Ralphie."

"I just don't know why somebody would do that," said Bryan Kilpatrick, Ralphie's owner.

Kirkpatrick said other valuables, including a PlayStation and a stereo, were taken. But the biggest loss was Ralphie.

"You're not gonna get much value out of a dog. He's just- he's just an old dog, wants to be home, I'm sure. He needs to take his medication, so we just wanna have him back at home," Kirkpatrick said.

The Kirkpatricks have had Ralphie, now age nine, since he was only six weeks old. Anyone with information on the burglary or Ralphie's whereabouts is urged to call Sandy police at 801-799-3000.
