WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Police in West Valley City are searching for several suspects who allegedly crashed a party for children they didn’t know, and when the beer-bearing strangers were asked to leave the party, one suspect produced a knife and slashed an adult victim.

West Valley City PD said the incident occurred late Saturday, just before midnight, in the area of 1600 West Claybourne Avenue when three men and two women walked into the wrong party while carrying beer.

Lt. Jeff Conger, West Valley City PD, said the party at the home was for a younger child, but as it was a family gathering there were also adults present.

The residents of the home didn’t know the suspects, and the children’s grandfather and a 20-year-old man at the home asked the group to leave and then escorted them outside.

The three men began arguing with the grandfather, police said, and one suspect pulled out a knife and slashed the 20-year-old victim on his side.

Conger said the victim declined to be transported to a hospital, and, while he said the wound may require a few stitches, the man did not seem to be seriously injured.

The three men and two women then got into a tan-colored passenger car, possibly an Audi, and fled the scene. The male suspects are described only as being Hispanic men.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the incident is asked to contact West Valley City PD. Dispatch can be reached at  801-963-3300.
