COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah -- The Quail Hollow Fire is about 70 percent contained as of Wednesday evening, but the Unified Fire Authority hopes to reach full containment by 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.

They have allowed all the families who were evacuated Tuesday morning back into their homes.

There are between 50 and 60 firefighters putting out hot spots along the area of the fire, and Wasatch Boulevard between 90th South and 98th South has been closed down.

Families are relieved their homes were saved.

David Tucker had been house sitting his daughter's home while she is away, and officials told him Tuesday morning his house would probably not make it.

"I was so relieved, I could not believe it," David Tucker said. "Thank you, they did a good job."

Firefighters continued to soak the ground Wednesday.

"We are just going to walk every inch of this fire, look for any sort of hot spots, anything that's smoking and put water in it," said Dan Brown, a public information officer for Unified Fire Authority.
