Horror genre legend Wes Craven reportedly dead at 76

Filmmaker Wes Craven, known for movies like “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Scream”, died Sunday at the age of 76 according to multiple reports.

Entertainment Weekly reports Craven’s family announced the death Sunday, and the verified Twitter account for Wes Craven posted a photo Sunday night with Craven’s photo, his name and “1939-2015”

EW reports the family statement indicated that Craven was engaged and working right up until the end of his life, click here for more of their report. 

The Internet Movie Database reports Craven had been battling brain cancer. His film credits include the “Nightmare on Elm Street” films, “The Hills Have Eyes” films, and the various entries in the “Scream” franchise, as well as many more.
