SALT LAKE CITY – The body of a Colorado man who vanished after he stepped off of a train in Salt Lake City while traveling home from California has been found in a remote area of Nevada.

According to the Facebook page “Robin Putnam, find Home”, family members were notified that Robin Putnam, who was 25 when he vanished in July of 2012, was located in a remote area of eastern Nevada.

The posting states the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, and the poster thanks those who helped search for their support. The Facebook page is the same page the man’s parents pointed to when interviewed in the past about their efforts to find Robin.

FOX 13 News first began covering the story in 2012 after Putnam was reported missing. The man had gotten off of a train in Salt Lake City while traveling home to Colorado from Oakland, California—where he was attending art school.

Family members contacted by FOX 13 News Sunday confirmed the details of the Facebook post and said they planned to release a statement to local media Monday, but they said they did not wish to speak further regarding the story Sunday.
