WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Police in West Valley City were following up on tips in a wanted person case Friday night, and after a large police response and an incident that lasted several hours, officers ultimately took five people into custody—four of whom were booked into jail.

A patrol officer following up on tips was led to a home in the area of 3400 West in West Valley City, and the officer observed the wanted suspect as well as a man with warrants out for his arrest.

When police knocked on the door, an individual fled out the back. He was tracked down by police and taken into custody. Others inside the home refused to come out.

After some time, police secured a warrant for the home and entered. Some suspects came out voluntarily during the incident, while others weren’t apprehended until the warrant was served. A total of five people were taken into custody, and at least four will be booked into jail.

Police said a large number of personnel responded to the area because, given the history of some of the suspects, they felt there was a risk of the situation turning violent. Personnel from the Metro Gang Unit also assisted, which is common in fugitive operations even if the suspect isn’t a gang member.

“This is not the first time we've been out here,” said Lt. Dalan Taylor of the West Valley City Police Department. “We've had problems at this residence before. The neighbors have come up to us and thanked us for making arrests tonight, and we're still working on getting all the problems out of this and making this neighborhood a little bit better for everyone else.”

Abbygeal Dunn, 22, was arrested for felony warrants relating to narcotics. Tyler Lundell, 22, was booked on a Adult Probation and Parole warrant.

Cameron Swensen, 22, reportedly refused to comply with police and was bitten by a police K9 during the incident. He was booked for multiple felony warrants.

Britney Scarborough, 37, was booked for warrants relating to robbery and burglary. She was the original suspect police were investigating Friday night.
