SALT LAKE CITY -- FOX 13 News got the chance to celebrate something exciting Thursday morning, and we were at the event with a guest of honor who told us about the exciting things she gets to do next week.

“Get to go swimming and go ride horses and rock climbing,” said Hailee Gansen.

Max and Tamara first met Hailee in June at a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association hosted by Harley Davidson of Salt Lake. The pair emceed the event, which brought in donations from motorcycle enthusiasts and business leaders.

The goal was to send Hailee and 104 other kids to a special camp this summer, and the event raised about $149,000—or nearly $70,000 more than needed to get the kids to camp.

Joe Timmons, owner of Harley Davidson of Salt Lake, presented the check in a ceremony this week, and he said there are a great deal of people who deserve thanks for contributing to the cause.

“We're the ones able to give away the check, but really it’s everybody else who did all the hard work, and we so appreciate everything they’ve done,” he said. “And our goal this year was to raise enough money to send all the kids to camp. We were successful with that, and look at the good we did. Isn't this amazing?”

This was the eighth annual Harley Davidson of Salt Lake Black and Blue Ball supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Utah. All of that extra money supports local clinics that provide one-stop treatment for Utah children with muscle diseases.
