(CNN) — When children at a Boston hospital posted up a sign asking “Who ya gonna call?” the response was more than they could have ever dreamed of.

The all-female cast of the upcoming “Ghostbusters” remake visited Tufts Medical Center on Saturday to meet and greet children staying there.

Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones even showed up in costume (much like Chris Evans dressed like Captain America in a recent visit).

The movie is filming in Boston, and we’ve learned a lot about what to expect from it so far. It’s certainly unusual for the cast of a big budget movie to appear in public in costume while filming it.

The reboot has received more than its share of detractors, and some used the visit as another excuse to criticize the film and its female stars on the hospital’s Facebook page. In response, moderators of the Facebook page had to warn commenters against using profanity.

Fortunately, the children didn’t seem to notice the online vitriol.
