Man from Layton among victims in fatal plane crash in New Mexico

NEW MEXICO — A man from Layton was among two people who were found dead at the scene of a plane crash in New Mexico Wednesday morning.

According to a press release from the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, New Mexico Game and Fish officers conducting aerial surveillance spotted a crash site in the vicinity of Truth or Consequences Municipal Airport in Sierra County around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

New Mexico State Police responded and the aircraft was identified as a Cessna Comanche registered to David Reasor, 41 of La Luz, New Mexico–who was identified as the pilot and was among those deceased at the scene. Authorities also located Jason Robert Glenn, 37 of Layton, dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is not immediately clear. The Federal Aviation Administration has responded and is investigating. The National Transportation Safety Board will also investigate, according to the press release.
