PARK CITY, Utah -- Two ski resorts will combine for a new “Park City," and with that comes a new logo, brand and trail map.

Hundreds gathered Wednesday to get the first glimpse of the changes coming to what will soon be the nation's largest single ski area.

“I couldn't be more excited; it's bringing in a whole bunch of amenities, a whole bunch of attention,” said Daimon Bushi, who is a Park City resident.

The combined Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons will be marketed as "Park City" to the rest of world. But the mountain will keep its legal name of Park City Mountain Resort, or PCMR.

“It's all about the future, and everyone is enthusiastic about where we're going,” said Bill Rock, who is PCMR’s COO.

A new logo will also cover the mountain, keeping the font and infinity sign from the Canyons and bringing over the red from the original Park City logo.

“The outpouring of support from the community really shows people are interested in what we're doing and support where we're going,” Rock said.

PCMR also unveiled the new trail map spanning 6.5 miles from one end to the other. Residents said it will be a big change for the area.

“There's certain things of course, I'll be sad when there's more traffic and there's less trails in the summer but the community will thrive from it too,” said Stacy Wintzer, another Park City resident.

To combine the two resorts, PCMR is putting $50 million of improvements into the mountain--from lifts and trails to lodges and restaurants.

A new gondola, called “Quicksilver,” will connect the base of the existing Silverlode Lift at Park City to the Flatiron Lift at Canyons. Quicksilver will be a high-speed, two-way gondola system capable of carrying eight people in each gondola.

A new restaurant called “Miners Camp” will open at the base of the Silverlode Lift and will accommodate 500 diners.
