2 people displaced after duplex fire in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah — Two people were displaced after a fire broke out in an Ogden duplex early Friday morning.

Ogden City firefighters responded to the structure at about 3:24 a.m., located at 3484 S. Adams Ave. Upon arrival, crews reported heavy smoke coming from the duplex, according to a press release from Ogden City Fire Department.

All occupants had exited the building before crews arrived on scene. Firefighters went into the duplex and extinguished a fire found in a bedroom, the release states.

“Both sides of the duplex suffered smoke damage and two occupants were displaced as a result of the fire,” the release states.

The blaze caused about $25,000 in damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

There were no injuries reported but the Utah Red Cross responded to assist the occupants displaced.
