SALT LAKE CITY - Fire crews have evacuated workers from a government building downtown for heavy smoke Monday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the Heber M. Wells building at 160 E. and 300 S. just after 11 a.m.

The Utah Labor Commission and Utah Department of Commerce are housed in the building.

Officials said the smoke appears to be coming from the top floor, however, fire crews are still investigating the source.

Crews on scene said a couple of people may be suffering from smoke inhalation but no serious injuries have been reported at this time.
