Fire crews revive family dog in Riverton house fire, no one injured

RIVERTON, Utah – Fire crews have rescued and revived a family dog after a house fire in Riverton Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said no one was home when the fire started in a basement bedroom of the home at 5364 W. Silver Spot Ct. near 13400 S. and W. Rosecrest Rd.

According to Unified Fire, the dog is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery.

Fire crews said the flames consumed about a third of the basement and expect the family of eight to be displaced for the night.

Officials have not confirmed how the fire started.
