SALT LAKE CITY -- Four new automated passport control kiosks are ready to be used at Salt Lake City International Airport.

The kiosks allow international travelers to move through customs much faster.

The kiosks are expected to cut down wait times by 30 to 40 minutes and families can use one kiosk all together.

Salt Lake International traveler Greg Agar says Canada uses the kiosks already and they make his life better.

“It was nice,” Agar said.  “ I could wake up an hour later. Taxis and things weren't a big concern anymore. It took my two hour international flight prep times down to about 45 minutes to an hour. So we were worried we got to the airport late and we still cleared customs.”

A Salt Lake City International Airport representative said international travel there has increased 30 percent over the last year and it has nine international flights each week.

It plans to advance even further soon with an app that can get you through customs in the future.
