TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — Crews are battling two brush fires in Tooele County after lightning strikes Tuesday evening.

Originally, officials reported there were three fires. Teresa Rigby, spokeswoman for the Bureau of Land Management, said the Faust Fire has consumed about 30 acres. About five miles away the Vernon Reservoir Fire has burned 25 acres.

A total of 50 firefighters are battling the blazes. Rigby said planes have dropped water on the flames.

The fires are not threatening any structures.

make sure your camp fires are put out for good, i know that fires are not always peoples fault, lightning causes them to, Our forest service and blm crews are out in this hot weather, working with the hot fires going on around them. when we could prevent forest fires, especially with the dry grass around and no moisture. just want to say, stay save out there and thank you for all the hard work/
