DAVIS COUNTY, Utah -- There will be more construction and closures along I-15 this weekend in south Davis County, as the Utah Department of Transportation is closing the freeway in both directions at the 400 North bridge Saturday. There will also be lane restrictions on I-215 in North Salt Lake.

400 North will also be closed in the area, and it will remain closed until the project is completed. UDOT plans to rebuild the bridge at that location, which was demolished in April.

The project means I-15 will be closed in both directions at 400 North from Saturday night into Sunday morning.

“We’re going to try to keep traffic flowing as much as possible, but we are recommending people use Legacy Parkway as an alternative route on Saturday night if you have to be out on the road,” said John Gleason with the Utah Department of Transportation.

Southbound I-15 is scheduled to close at 500 West around 11 p.m. Saturday, and all lanes are scheduled to reopen by 11 a.m. Sunday.

The project in south Davis County is expected to wrap up at the end of summer.

In North Salt Lake, I-215 will be reduced to one lane in each direction near the on-ramps to I-15. Crews will be completing concrete maintenance on a bridge over railroad tracks, and the lane restrictions will be in place for about two months. UDOT recommends drivers use Legacy Parkway as an alternate route.
