SALT LAKE CITY – Authorities saved a woman who was threatening to jump from the roof of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints office building downtown Wednesday.

Jason Asay with the Salt Lake City Fire Department told Fox 13 security found the woman on the observation deck at about 10 a.m.

Security told authorities it believed the woman was going to harm herself and jump off the building.

Officers said they handcuffed the woman to the railing to keep her from jumping while waiting for police and fire crews to arrive.

Fire crews safely escorted the woman to the ground floor and she will now undergo a medical evaluation.

Roads in the area are back open at this time.
