SALT LAKE CITY — A new airsoft training arena will not only serve the public, but it will also help military and law enforcement officials train for combat.

Milsim City is a new 40,000 square foot indoor training arena, located at 1055 West North Temple in Salt Lake City, where participants use airsoft guns, which fire plastic BBs but are often modeled to look nearly identical to actual firearms.

Everything at the center is modular, so the layout can change according to what’s needed for training. The facility was specifically built with law enforcement in mind, but it is open to the public on certain nights. Groups can also reserve the center for events during non-public hours.

“We have many different branches coming down to see us, like SWAT, corrections, patrol—we’re trying to work toward getting K9, FBI,” said Travis Petersen, a co-founder of Milsim City.

The facility also offers safety training when it comes to real weapons. People can attend defensive sessions on how to protect their home or how to shoot a gun safely.
