Beards might be trendy right now but you may want to re-think your facial hair after reading this story.
New research shows that some beards are as dirty as toilets.
A microbiologist in New Mexico, John Golobic, swabbed a number of beards and tested them for bacteria. He says a surprising amount of them tested positive for fecal bacteria.
Golobic told KOAT the results “blew his mind.”
So what if you like facial hair? Golobic says you won’t get sick. However, he does recommend lots of hand washing, thorough beard scrubbing, and avoiding touching your face.
