WEBER COUNTY, Utah — Detectives and CSI agents returned to the east Ogden Bench Tuesday to search for evidence that could be connected to a body found in the area Monday morning.

Weber County Sheriff’s Office was called to the area when a mountain biker discovered the body on the mountainside near 1500 N. Mountain Road.

The body was identified as a woman. Officials say they believe the body was there for more than a few weeks based on its state of decomposition.

Detectives are waiting for an official report from the medical examiner’s office to determine the woman’s cause of death. No initial cause of death has been determined and a comprehensive report could take up to two months to complete, officials said Tuesday.

Officials say they are following up on several good leads as to the woman’s identity but nothing has been confirmed. It is still unknown at this time who she is and how she ended up on the mountainside.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
