Meth, heroin, weapon, $5,000 seized in Price drug bust, suspects arrested

PRICE, Utah – A traffic stop led to a drug bust where police seized meth, heroin, other drugs and about $5,000 in cash over the weekend.

Officers pulled over a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am for a minor traffic violation near 350 S Main St. in Price Saturday.

Authorities said they saw drug paraphernalia in the back seat and then searched the car.

Police seized about 5 ounces of meth, half an ounce of heroin, a number of prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, a large folding knife and more than $5,000 in cash.

Police arrested the driver, 41-year-old Christopher Thomas Gill, of Helper, Utah.

Officers also arrested 39-year-old Spring Glen resident Jeremy Charles Saccomanno and 37-year-old Jeff Andrew Vigil of Price.

Authorities said a woman was in the front seat but she has not been arrested at this time.

Gill was arrested for:

  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
  • Possession of heroin with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a controlled substance (five different kinds of prescription medications)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a weapon by a restricted person
  • Traffic offenses

Gill has 18 previous arrests, mostly for theft, weapons, and drug offenses.

Gill was also out on a $32,000 bail from a serious drug offense allegedly committed on Jan. 6, 2015.

Saccomanno was booked for:

  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of paraphernalia
  • Seat belt violation

Police said Saccomanna has two prior DUI convictions.

Vigil was arrested for:

  • Possession of paraphernalia
  • An unrelated retail theft charge

Officers said Vigil has three prior arrests, including two DUI convictions.

It is up to the Carbon County Attorney to determine formal charges in this case.
