PROVO, Utah – A candlelight vigil is planned for Monday on behalf of a woman who went missing earlier this month.

The vigil for Elizabeth Laguna Salgado, who is known to some as Elena, will be held at Pioneer Park, 500 West Center Street in Provo, at 6 p.m. Monday.

Police said Salgado was last seen walking home from school along 500 West near Center Street in Provo on April 16. Hundreds of volunteers gathered Saturday to look for Salgado. Friday, Elizabeth and Ed Smart participated in a press conference to aid in search efforts.

The woman was last seen wearing a denim jacket, blue jeans and black or brown hiking boots. She’s described as being 5-feet 4-inches tall and weighs between 120 and 130 pounds. She has long black hair and brown eyes.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 801-852-7307.
