WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – A man who thought he was on his way to meet someone for a blind date was instead the victim of a robbery and carjacking in West Valley City Saturday morning.

West Valley City Police Department officials said a man was going to meet someone for breakfast on a blind date in the area of 3900 South 5400 West.

When the man arrived at the meeting place Saturday morning, three men grabbed him by the arms and took his keys, phone and wallet. The suspects stole the victim’s vehicle, a white Pontiac.

The man who was mugged fled to a friend’s apartment, where he called police.
