(CNN) — Joey Logano won the Daytona 500 on Sunday to capture NASCAR’s season-opening Sprint Cup race. It’s the first time Logano has won the 500.

“I can’t believe it. This is amazing. Daytona 500, oh my God,” Logano said.

Jeff Gordon, who led the most laps in what he had said would be his final Daytona 500, finished 33rd after a last-lap crash.

NASCAR.com reports Keving Harvick finished second, Dale Earnhardt Jr. third, Denny Hamlin fourth and Jimmie Johnson fifth.

Sunday’s race went into overtime, ending under a caution on Lap 203. The caution came after a crash on the last lap forced a yellow.
