MILLCREEK, Utah - Unified Fire crews were in the right place at the right time to put out a fire overnight, and, after the fire, officials searched the home and arrested the couple living there for outstanding warrants as well as alleged possession of drugs and a weapon.

Firefighters put out a house fire, but it wasn't one they were called about. They just noticed it while driving by on another medical call.

Officials said a fire crew was driving by a home near 3800 S. and 1300 E. when they saw smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters stopped at the home and sent emergency crews to the original call.

A couple and their dog got out of the home before authorities arrived. Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department said 33-year-old Jenny Pogue and 31-year-old Cody Pakemori were arrested for outstanding warrants. He said a search warrant was obtained for the home, and police found drugs and a weapon inside.

Both individuals were booked into jail for drugs and possession of a weapon by a restricted person as well as for outstanding warrants.

Authorities said they were able to contain the flames to a bedroom, and Brian Anderton of the Unified Fire Authority said they estimate the damages at about $50,000. The home is not habitable at this time.

The fire is under investigation; officials have not confirmed what sparked the blaze at this time.
