For most animal lovers, when it comes to pets, the usual dog or cat will fit the bill.
But some people prefer to take a walk on the wild side and go for something more exotic like turtles, alligators or snakes.
Jim Dix of Reptile Rescue said most of these pets soon become unwanted due to maintenance issues or the realization that reptiles live a long time.
FOX 13 News’ Dave Nemeth talks to Dix about where people can safely let go of their reptile pets.
