SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utes celebrated 40 years of Utah gymnastics at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City Friday, and more than 100 former Utah gymnasts were in the crowd. The girls did not disappoint during competition.

Tory Wilson and Georgia Dabritz scored back-to-back 10.0s on the vault. After that, the Utes ran away with the meet against Arizona State, finishing 197.825-194.100.

Utah is now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in Pac-12.

This was the second time in school history that two Utes hit back-to-back 10.0s. The last two to do it were Kristen Kenoyer and Aimee Trepanier, scoring back-to-back 10.0s on the floor in 1993. Both Kenoyer and Trepanier were in the crowd to see it happen.

Even though the current Red Rocks wanted to put on a good show for the alumni, their first concentration was on themselves.

"We just went through practice this week like normal," senior Corrie Lothrop said. "I think we are just still trying to keep the ball rolling in the right direction and keep showing the fans what we can do."

"It was kind of a sentimental thing," senior Georgia Dabritz said. "It was a great night to have all of them back there supporting us. Just to put on that kind of show for them tonight was really amazing."

"Even though we are all in different years, besides a core group of us, it's like we are all sisters," former Ute Lisa Mitzel said.

Mitzel is a 6-time All-American, NCAA National Champion, and was a part of four NCAA Championship teams from 1983-1986.

"We are all family, kind of being raised in a way, into adulthood with Greg and Megan," she said. "They told us we could do anything."

The Utes head on the road for their next meet at Washington in Seattle on Valentine's Day.
