WEBER COUNTY, Utah – A Weber County woman convicted of helping to hide her babysitter’s body has been denied parole.

The Board of Pardons and Parole decided 41-year-old Dea Millerberg will remain in prison until the end of her five year sentence.

Tuesday the board said it may consider an earlier release date if Millerberg successfully completes the ExCell residential substance abuse treatment program.

Millerberg pleaded guilty to the desecration of a body and was sentenced last August to zero-to-five years in prison.

In September of 2011, Millerberg and her husband Eric shot up drugs with their babysitter Alexis Rasmussen, who was 16 at the time.

The teen died of an overdose and the Millerbergs hid her body in rural Morgan County.

During a hearing Jan. 27,  Millerberg tearfully apologized to Lexi’s family for her actions.

“I’m not feeling sorry for myself, because I don’t — I struggle with it every day, what I did. The longer I’ve been off drugs the harder this is — the decisions I made,” Millerberg said.

Millerberg’s husband, Eric, was convicted of child abuse homicide and other charges; he is serving up to life in prison.
