Ogden police ask public’s help after hit-and-run kills 16-year-old skateboarder

OGDEN, Utah – Authorities in Ogden are asking for the public’s help in a hit-and-run accident that killed a 16-year-old skateboarder back in November.

Police released photos of the suspect’s truck back in December and are now reaching out to the public in hopes someone recognizes the vehicle.

Officials said the teen was hit on 200 W. 17th St. back on Nov. 1 around 10:30 p.m.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle allegedly stopped and a got out of the vehicle before speeding away.

According to a press release from the Ogden City Police Department, the driver is described as being a Hispanic male who stands 5-feet 7-inches tall and is believed to be in his 20s.

Police provided an image of the truck form a security camera in the area, as well as a color photo of a truck that is not the suspect vehicle but is of a similar make and model.

Anyone with information about the crash or who has seen the vehicle is asked to call police at 801-629-8634.
