WEST JORDAN, Utah – Students at a local high school got a hands-on, interactive experience that brought the history of World War II to life, and it was courtesy of a local organization.

The Utah Military History Association visited West Jordan High School, and they brought historical artifacts with them.

History students went through five stations, each focusing on a different aspect of the war.

Teachers said students remember more when they're able to actually interact with the history rather than just read about it.

Abigail Henderson, a senior student at West Jordan High School, said she enjoyed the experience.

“It was really cool to learn about Germany in the war because one of my great, great grandfathers fought in the war for Germany, and it was also really cool learning about the different types of uniforms,” she said.

The students interacted with military uniforms, technology, survival gear and a 1942 military jeep.
