LOGAN, Utah – An out of control car collided with a truck in Logan Canyon Friday, and a man pulled his father from the truck after it wound up on its side in the Logan River.

An out of control car reportedly crashed into Kurtis Petersen and his father as they were driving up the canyon in a truck. The car was reportedly fish-tailing as it came around a corner and was traveling down the canyon.

Petersen said they tried to move to the side of the road to get out of the way, but the car still struck their truck, which caused it spin and then slide down an embankment into the river.

“I made sure my dad was all right and pushed the door open and pulled him out cause he was bleeding pretty good,” Petersen said.

He added: "It's scary. It all happened, after he hit me, it was all slow motion, it seemed like... And then there's nothing you can do.”

Petersen said his father suffered a cut on his head but will be OK. Both men were wearing seat belts. There were no reports of other injuries.
