WEBER COUNTY, Utah — A stolen Division of Natural Resources truck was found abandoned in Weber County Monday.

The Vehicle was taken from Willard State Park sometime last week. Lt. Erick Stucki with Utah State Parks, said the truck was stolen from a locked, fenced-in yard while the keys were with the driver.

Somehow the thief managed to remove the lock and take off in the truck, which had a rifle, a shotgun and winter gear that belonged to the driver inside, Stucki said.

When the truck was found, Stucki said, they were surprised to find the two weapons still inside. There was no major damage.

DNR police are going over the truck for fingerprints or other evidence that might identify those responsible for the theft.

Stucki said this is the first time a state parks vehicle has been stolen from Willard Bay State Park.
