HAYDEN, Idaho – A 2-year-old boy shot and killed his 29-year-old mother inside a Walmart in Idaho Tuesday, according to Idaho officials.
The woman was shopping with four children when the toddler apparently grabbed the firearm from his mother’s purse and fired the gun.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office described the shooting as “accidental” in a news release.
The child’s relation to the woman has not been confirmed by deputies, however the sheriff’s office stated in a press release it appears the victim is the toddler’s mother.
She has not been identified.
Officials said the woman had a concealed weapons permit.
The investigation is ongoing.
