SALT LAKE CITY — Snow is making roads slick in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas Sunday, and traffic cameras showed a couple of crashes that occurred in the same area and within about 5 minutes of each other.

A Utah Department of Transportation camera captured footage of two incidents that occurred in the area of I-15 and North Temple. In the first, a car can be seen moving across lanes of traffic and then losing control before hitting another vehicle. The vehicle begins in the right side of the frame and moves to the left. The crash occurred at about 6:52 p.m.

About five minutes later, another car slides out just in front of the area where the first crash occurred and while emergency responders are still on scene. The vehicle spins upward from the bottom of the frame on the left side.

UDOT officials urged motorists to be prepared for bad weather through the weekend and into Monday morning's commute, click here for details.

FOX 13 News Meteorologist Brek Bolton said light snow showers are expected to continue Sunday night and into Monday morning across the Wasatch Front. He said the snowfall won't be heavy in most areas, but he said because it is cold even small amounts of snow will stick to roadways and make them slick.

UDOT tweeted reports of several crashes Sunday evening, and their website showed several incidents. Most of the crashes appeared to be minor, and so far FOX 13 News has not received reports of any serious injuries.
