SALT LAKE CITY — The director of the Utah Pride Center has resigned, the second in just over a year for the non-profit community center that serves the state’s gay community.
Steven Ha resigned Friday. The Utah Pride Center said in a statement he had been recently diagnosed with a recurrence of lymphoma.
Ha is the second director of the Utah Pride Center to resign in little more than a year. In November 2013, Valarie Larabee resigned in the face of a financial shortfall and complaints over her management style.
In the statement, the Utah Pride Center said an interim director had been appointed and a search for a new director would begin with the new year.
