Expert talks about Internet safety for youth, parents

Kids today are more connected than ever before.

Texting, Facebook, Twitter and other social media apps make it easy for them to get in touch with people around the world.

While youth open themselves up to other people, they may be trying to keep their parents in the dark by using acronymsand apps that keep conversations private.

FOX 13 News spoke with Max Rogers, director of Utah Net-Smartz program. The program is part of the Boys and Girls Club.

Rogers said the program is aimed at keeping kids safe online.
