MILLCREEK, Utah – Police are searching for a suspect they are calling the “orange beard bandit” who is accused of robbing a Millcreek bank.

Police said the suspect hit the Chase Bank inside the Smith’s grocery store on 3215 Valley St. just before 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

Officers said the suspect handed the bank teller a coupon as if he were going to make a transaction.

Then he lifted his shirt, showed the teller his gun and said he wanted money.

Authorities said the suspect ran from the bank with an unconfirmed amount of cash.

Police said this isn’t the first incident at this bank.

They said there was another robbery at the same bank just weeks ago.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said officers are checking to see if the suspect is connected to any other robberies.

Police said the suspect is a Caucasian man in his late twenties or early thirties with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing jeans, a gray hoodie, a fake orange beard and black and yellow fingerless gloves.

Police ask anyone with information to call (801) 743-7000.
